Turk Telekom strengthened a lot their roster
It seems that the Turkish club is not so affected by the economic crisis, since they made some important acquisitions during the last weeks. Even if the roster is not completed, we can see their desire to achieve some glory next season.
Turk Telekom maintained the experienced center Kyle Wiltjer, adding 3 important names: Michael Eric, ACB winner with Baskonia, Tyler Ennis, former Fenerbahce player and Sam Dekker a promising young American who is coming from Lokomotiv Kuban. The first 3 players have previous Euroleague experience and this will contribute a lot to the chemistry of the squad. Another important detail is that Kyle Wiltjer and Tyler Ennis were teammates as well for Canada in international competitions, so they know each other very well.
It remains to be seen which other players will join the Turkish club who could definitely be one of the powerhouses of Basketball Champions League. Firstly, they have a good chance in the Final Tournament organized by FIBA Europe at the end of September where the BasketballCL 2019-2020 will be crowned! Turk Telekom will face there the winner between JDA Dijon and Nizhny Novgorod, average teams that didn’t impress in the regular season.
The Turkish club seems to have an easy path to reach the semifinals of the BasketballCL where the things will complicate a bit since they will meet the winner of San Pablo Burgos and Hapoel Jerusalem. Everything depends on how the opponents will build their roster, but Turk Telekom looks like a tough cookie. The Turkish powerhouse is very determined to invest in order to reach the final stages in BasketballCL and in the domestic league. Their investment came at the right time because now Turk Telekom has a historical chance to compete with the same strong roster in 2 different editions of the Basketball Champions League.
