Who had a perfect double-round week in the EuroLeague?
This week was again a double-round one in the most important competition in Europe. Some teams had to travel a lot, others less but I am sure all of them ended up very tired. Let’s see which are the squads that won both games of the week:
- Olympiacos Piraeus consolidated their no.1 position in the EuroLeague by beating Barca (77-70), erasing the first-quarter big deficit. In the next game, the Greeks had no mercy on Bayern Munich (102-74).
- AS Monaco smashed firstly Panathinaikos (84-70) and then steal an important win at Baskonia (102-93) being unstoppable in the offense. They are occupying the 4th position right now.
- Maccabi Tel Aviv beat this week both Turkish teams and they look stronger than ever, with an eye to the playoff. Firstly at home, the Israeli team threw down Fenerbahce, with a small margin of 78-74 and two days later they stormed past the reigning champions Anadolu Efes in Istanbul (86-64).
- Zalgiris Kaunas won against the worst two teams in the Euroleague and they are hoping again to qualify for the playoffs. Firstly they succeed at Alba Berlin (66-63) and then in Zalgirio Arena against Asvel Lyon (85-67).
- Last but not least, Olimpia Armani Milano trashed Valencia Basket away (88-84) and then at home they destroyed Partizan (76-62). The Italians are now in the good race, winning their 6 game in a row in the EuroLeague and they are aiming definitely to reach the playoffs, which is a difficult mission, but not impossible if they maintain the rhythm.
