A crucial game for Promitheas at Nanterre
Tomorrow, Promitheas will face Nanterre in France and the win is very important for all the teams involved in the battle for the last spots of the Eurocup TOP16. Cedevita, Promitheas and Nanterre ar the teams that can aim for those 2 spots, with Bursaspor almost eliminated.
Promitheas needs the win because Nanterre has already 3 victories, while the Greek side only 2 and the French club will have then 2 easy games against Bursaspor, the worst team of the group.
In the case of a win, Nanterre is 90% qualified and the chances for Promitheas are decreasing a lot. They have to beat Cedevita Olimpija twice and then, of course, Bursaspor.
The problem is that Promitheas has to play against Cedevita on Thursday, after two long trips from Athens to Paris and from Paris to Ljubljana. They won’t be so fresh as Cedevita, that’s why the main goal for them has to be winning tomorrow at Nanterre.
The good news for the Greek side is they recovered all their players from Covid and now they have the entire roster available. Only Charis Giannakopoulos will miss the game. Experienced players and a large rotation should make the difference. Anyway the initial odd on Promitheas was good not to take it: 3.00. Now, the odds went down and I see the Greeks as favourites, of course depending on their physical shape after the Coronavirus.
