Barcelona will have a tough game against Fenerbahce
On Wednesday (11.20), Palau Blaugrana will host a Euroleague derby between FC Barcelona, the local team, and Fenerbahce Istanbul, one of the greatest organizations of the past years.
The situation of the two rivals is very different. FC Barcelona is in third place in the standings, having won 6 of their 8 games this season. Meanwhile, the Turkish side is having a bad start, being in the 15th place with just 2 wins.
In the last round, both teams were defeated. Barcelona lost to its rival, Real Madrid, with a score of 86-76 while Fenerbahce was crushed on the CSKA Moscow’s court, 88-70. The legendary Zeljko Obradovic lost his mind at one timeout and started to yell at his players, saying that they don’t care about winning.
Gigi Datome & Co. showed in the next game that they indeed care about Fenerbahce, as they beat Tofas with a margin of six points (76-82). FC Barcelona also recovered after their loss to Real Madrid and managed to beat Estudiantes with 94-72.
Taking all of these facts into consideration, I think that both sides have a strong desire to win and therefore I would say that it will be a very close match.
The most interesting duels will be between Nikola Mirotic and Derrick Williams, and between Cory Higgins and Nando de Colo.
The game starts on Wednesday, at 21.00 (CET).
