Can AEK repeat the BCL title?
After winning the Basketball Champions League trophy last season, everybody would think that this year AEK Athens will slow down the engine. And the first round of BCL confirmed that because they lost at home against a stronger Hapoel Jerusalem.
But that was their wake up moment. Since then AEK won all the games, being the leader of the most difficult group C. A very tough game will expect them next week at Brose Bamberg, a dangerous team resurrected now, after so many injuries which affects them at the beginning of the competition.
The AEK ambitions to be again in the Final 4 are revealed especially by the new campaign of acquisitions. Two useful players were added this even. It’s about the returning of Delroy James, BCL champion with AEK last year and Jordan Theodore, a point guard with a huge experience in all the European competitions. With them in the roster, AEK is again a strong title contender. It would be huge for them to win back to back the Basketball Champions League.
