Robbie Hummel, ex-NBA, led the USA over Serbia on 3×3 World Cup
Robbie Hummel. 3×3 competitions became more and more professional in the last years everywhere in the world. Serbia dominated all the recent editions of the World Cup, but it seems that the USA is prepared to regain control. It is maybe a similar situation with the American national team presence and results in the Olympic Games and World Cup before the Dream Team concept.
Before this event, the country who invented basketball never won the World Cup on 3×3. They have never beat Serbia on this category. But now it was time to move on. To reach other levels of intensity. And that’s why the USA team came here to Amsterdam with better players this time. Their leaders are Kareem Maddox who played professionally in UK, Nederlands and Poland first league and Robbie Hummel, ex-NBA player for Minnesota Timberwolves. Hummel is the most famous of the American team and he is very known to European public because he spent a season in Spanish League, and as well one with Olimpia Milano and another one with Khimki Moscow.
These 2 stars led the historical win of the American team in front of the World champions from Serbia. In spite of the efforts of Dusan Bulut and Dejan Majstorovic, the USA squad controlled the game from the beginning, giving no second chances to the opponents.
It looks like this time the tables are turned in favor of the American team who is, by far, the main title contender.
