FC Barcelona with a logical victory at Baskonia
The encounters between Baskonia and Barca are always full of passion and true derbies. This time I advised the followers of my private Telegram channel to consider FC Barcelona as the favourite to win because:
- Pierria Henry was out for the Basque squad, while Markus Howard missed the previous games due to back problems. They are two essential keys to Baskonia’s success. Finally, Howard entered the game but he was still not completely recovered. What we saw was a shadow of the great player he is. - Barca disappointed the fans this month losing at home against Virtus Bologna and Anadolu Efes and yesterday was the right moment for them to show their value. They had Satoranski and Mike Tobey back and a complete roster to rotate. You cannot lose any game and still want to win the Euroleague. Barca is fighting to have the home-court advantage for the Euroleague playoffs and even that moment is far, every game matters. They can qualify for the Final 4 in Kaunas and win it, but this opportunity has to be built with victories, not losing every week against weaker and poorer opponents. It came the moment when the Catalan squad has to focus 101% on their goal: winning the Euroleague title!
