Fuenlabrada humiliated at home by Hapoel Jerusalem

After 3 rounds of the Basketball Champions League, Fuenlabrada was on the first spot of the group C, which includes very strong teams like former champion AEK Athens, Euroleague Brose Bamberg and Hapoel Jerusalem.

They were looking in a good shape, but yesterday they were humiliated in front of their own fans by the Israelian team, led by Amar’e Stoudemire, who finally started to play some good basketball, finishing the game with 24 points and 7 rebounds.

At the break time, Fuenabrada was down by 20 and everybody expected a comeback of the Spaniards in the second half, especially when J’Covan Brown injured himself and Josh Owens, Chris Johnson and Amar’e Stoudemire accumulated 3 personal fouls. But nothing could stop the bleeding and Fuenlabrada looked like a helpless team, without any solutions. The deficit in rebounding was huge, almost unseen for such a good team: Hapoel dominated with 54-24 (!), as well as their 3 point percentage who was unreal: 12 from 23 (52%).

To lose at home with 75-105 it’s embarrassing and an image of the big gap between the level of these two teams. And if you’re thinking that Fuenlabrada was the favorite of this game!
