How to understand Sakarya?
One of the most inconstant teams of the moment is Sakarya BSB from Turkey, whose scorer is the former NBA Toney Douglas. Sunday, they surprisingly won the game on the court of Euroleague powerhouse Anadolu Efes with 96-86 and yesterday they lost in Fiba Europe Cup at Romanian team, CSM Oradea (86-84). Could you believe that?
The most important aspect is that till break time, Sakarya scored just 29 points (!), which is very disappointing for a team that has beaten Efes 3 days ago. Even more: in contrast to the game in Turkish League where the teams can use just 5 foreigners, in Fiba Europe Cup, Sakarya played with 6 foreigners (adding Mitchell Wilbekin, the younger brother of the Euroleague star, Scottie Wilbekin).
Oradea led all the game till last minutes when Sakarya had a wake-up moment and they eventually took back the lead, but it was not enough because Kris Richard took a buzzer beater that seals Oradea’s victory.
