Gran Canaria reached 10 losses in a row
As I told you in a couple of articles before, Gran Canaria has no chance in Euroleague because of the huge distances they have to travel every week. They are not a bad team, but they are simply tired. That’s why yesterday they beat another negative record: 10 losses in a row in Euroleague. And if we add also the games from Liga ACB they are at 14 consecutive games lost.
Last game won by Gran Canaria it was against Zalgiris at the end of December 2018, so in the last 2 months and a half, the Spanish team are just travelling here and there visiting nice places in Europe and losing. It’s not the best way to promote the image of the island and tourism in the area. Because let’s face it Gran Canaria is just a touristic team to attract people to visit the exotic island. The Eurocup or Basketball Champions League can fit much better with this purpose. Their presence in the Euroleague this season is a blow.
Yesterday, Gran Canaria was trashed with 34 points margin by a Zalgiris who has some important players injured. The final score was 98-64 but the index rate gap was even sadder: 123-60 for the Lithuanians.
Now Gran Canaria has to focus on Spanish league winning some games in order to avoid to be relegated to the 2nd league.
