Hapoel Jerusalem, too many stars for poor results
Hapoel Jerusalem, too many stars for poor results
When you take a look at Hapoel Jerusalem roster, you could really think they are the contender for Basketball Champions League title. They have everything they need, in every position. And I don’t mean just the old Amar’e Stoudemire who’s dreaming of an NBA return, meanwhile he’s not able to score more than 4 points per game, but a bunch of experienced players, like James Feldeine, Josh Owens, J’Covan Brown or Chris Johnson.
And even the Israeli players of Hapoel Jerusalem are amazing. They can make a difference in every game. Firstly, we speak about Tamir Blatt, who had the record for the most assists per game last year in BCL, and then about the ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv Euroleague players like Lior Eliyahu and Yogev Ohayon, and last but not least about Timor Bar and big man Alexey Chubrevich (2,12m)
And with this roster, Hapoel have lost to mediocre teams like Antwerp Giants and Galil Gilboa. It is unbelievable. They have to change something in their game, in their mentality, in their defence. Because despite all these inconsistent performances, we can still see them as one of the main candidates for the Basketball Champions League trophy.
