Holon can beat Maccabi Tel-Aviv, but not Nanterre

Basketball is so strange. I think it’s the weirdest thing for the aliens when they are analyzyng our planet and habits. The example of Hapoel Holon is perfect for my theory. During the weekend, in the domestic league, they arrive at the first spot by winning the clash against the Euroleague powerhouse, the legendary Maccabi Tel-Aviv with 105-100

Hapoel Holon reached now 10 victories in a row in the Israeli league, but in the crucial game at home in Basketball Champions League, they couldn’t beat Nanterre (62-74). Against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, they scored 105 points and against Nanterre a poor 62.

It’s clear that Hapoel Holon didn’t fight with the same interest and energy in both games. You can see that they saved the entire motivation just for the Israeli championship and they decided to make the qualification in BCL easier for Nanterre. Without this explanation, you could have the impression that Nanterre is much better than Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Basketball is a mystery.
