I was sure Kalev Cramo will qualify for the Champions League
The Estonian team hosted the FIBA tournament but they were considered not the clear favourite to win it. In any game, first against Sporting Lisbon, then against Mornar Bar and finally against Juventus Utena their odds raised in the previous hours instead of going down. The people trusted their opponents. I didn’t understand why.
Kalev destroyed Sporting by more than 20 points. Then, they had an easy job with Mornar Bar which the final result doesn’t reflect very well. Kalev Cramo actually dominated Mornar (a solid team) and this was a clear sign they will be able to win the tournament.
In the final act, they met Juventus Utena. The Lithuanian squad was coming after a surprising win against Brose Bamberg but in my opinion, they don’t have the roster for the Basketball Champions League.
Juventus fought till the end, they lead the first 3 quarters but in the last stanza, the problem of the short bench appeared. I saw Kalev Cramo as the favourite of the game and announce it previously in my private Telegram channel with advice for betting tips. I think the Estonian team deserved more than Juventus to reach the groups of the Basketball Champions League. They have as well a 10 000 seats arena, the experience of participating in the VTB League and a good roster.
