Is James Harden actually Santa Claus?
The reason why I ask this question is that they both love December very much as they seem to do their best job that month. As Santa Claus delivers gifts, James Harden delivered some amazing performances in the last month of 2018.
Actually, in 15 games played by Houston Rockets in December, James Harden scored 546 points, meaning that he has an average of 36.4 PPG. This had a huge effect on the way the team plays as Houston Rockets managed to win 11 out of that 15 games. Now, at the beginning of 2019, the Texans have a record of 21 wins and 15 losses, as they are standing on the 5th place in the Western Conference.
It has been incredible to see how James Harden, by stepping up his game, managed to substitute Chris Paul’s injury. So let’s take a closer look at Harden’s month. In 31 days, The Beard scored 50 points once, 40-49 points in 5 games, and 30-39 points in 6 games. Also, James Harden had three triple-doubles in this period of time, all with amazing numbers: 50 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists against LA Lakers, 32 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists against Memphis Grizzlies, and 43 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists against Memphis Grizzlies.
We can all see how amazing Harden’s month was as he actually put up historical numbers. In his last 10 games, James Harden scored 408 points, passing Kobe Bryant’s 396 points over a 10-game stretch (2007). In these 10 games, Harden has attempted 149 free-throws, meaning 14.9 FTA/game, showing how incredible he is at drawing contact and getting foul calls. If he manages to keep his game at this level it is very probable that James Harden will get his second consecutive MVP award.
