My prediction: neither Tenerife nor Manresa will reach the Final 4 of the BCL

3 months ago we had a fantastic final in the Basketball Champions League when Lenovo Tenerife won the title defeating Baxi Manresa. I am very sure that both teams won’t be present in the successive Final 4 because of many reasons.

First of all, I am seeing the process of building the roster and neither Lenovo Tenerife nor Baxi Manresa seems to create a competitive team. Tenerife has kept till now only Marcelinho Huertas and Tim Abromaitis from the squad that has won the finals of BCL. Let’s not forget that Huertas will be soon 40 years old and a danger of injury is more likely to happen at this age.

At the same time, Baxi Manresa a club that made history with a minimum budget last season didn’t keep some key players like Chima Moneke, Ismael Bako, Yankuba Sima and Luke Maye.

Then, I think that both clubs relaxed a bit knowing that after a very good season they cannot repeat the same performance because they don’t want to spend a lot of money.

It’s the time for other European teams, like Unicaja Malaga, Galatasaray, Peristeri, Murcia and so on to invest in building great roasters in order to achieve European glory.

The acquisition campaign it’s not over but it seems that won’t be an impressive one because the players already signed by both teams are regular of low level. But that’s the wheel of fortune in all the sports, you have good seasons and then weak ones.
