Sleepy Fuenlabrada hammered by F.C. Barcelona
After losing at home against Lietkabelis in the last round of the Basketball Champions League, Fuenlabrada registered the second loss of the week this time in Liga ACB, at F.C. Barcelona. I remember that in the first part of the season, Fuenlabrada beat Barcelona with 79-73.
This time, the visitors, despite their many acquisitions last weeks had no chance at Palau Blaugrana. They were destroyed with 30 points margin (106-76), even if Barcelona used a different rotation from usual Euroleague games, giving more minutes to Artem Pustovyi who played excellently: 15 points and 18 index rate in 18 minutes. Another surprise came from Rolands Smiths who scored 12 points with 13 index rate in just 11 minutes for Barcelona.
In spite of having now a large rotation, Fuenlabrada couldn’t find their rhythm being overtaken by the host team on any chapter: rebounds, percentage, assists, steals etc. They had 14 turnovers compared with Barca’s 7. What a complete disaster for Fuenlabrada, while experienced players like Earl Rowland had 0 points, Christian Eyenga -2, Daniel Clark – 4.
