Mario Chalmers

  Mario Chalmers

Mario Chalmers came in the league in 2008, being selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with their 34th overall pick. He was later traded to Miami Heat in that same summer. Chalmers was a role player for his entire career, and he never averaged more than 10,8 points-per-game or more than 4,9 assists-per-game, even though he was playing on the point-guard position. His glorious times came once LeBron James went to play alongside Wade and Bosh in 2012, when the first “superteam” was formed in Miami. Mario won 2 NBA Championships because of playing with that trio, which was also completed by the fourth piece, Jesus Shuttlesworth or Ray Allen, as known by everyone. In 2015 he got traded to the Memphis Grizzlies and his career started to go downwards ever since, even though he was only 29 years old at that time. The main reason for all that was a ruptured right Achilles tendon in 2016. After 8 months of recovery, he came back but he had many discomforts in his game, so he didn’t find a team for the 2016-17 season. Only in the next year he resigned with the Memphis Grizzlies, but he didn’t do very much for them. At the start of 2019 he decided to take his talent to Europe and he joined the Italian team Virtus Bologna.
