Tenerife, Holon and Manresa – simply too good!
Who thought that all 3 quarterfinals will finish with 2-0? Yesterday, watching basketball was more than exciting because the games were amazing thrillers. Let’s start with Tofas Bursa – Iberostar Tenerife. After losing the first leg by one point in Spain, Tofas had all the probabilities to win their home game. But again, the Turkish squad started the game very badly and they had to run after Tenerife for 40 minutes. The Spaniards dominated the first half like they did last week and then slowly lost control in the last quarter. A lucky win for Tenerife, but they without a doubt are more solid in crucial moments than Tofas.
After having 15 points advantage, SIG Strasbourg gave back in front of the motivation of Hapoel Holon. The Fench side still had some missing players and this affect them in the second part of the encounter when the Israeli team run over them. Again a thriller decided by 1 point!
Unicaja Malaga, even without Cameron Oliver, but having back Jaime Fernandez could tie the series of the Quarterfinals against Baxi Manresa. They started bad but in the last quarter, Unicaja seemed to have the power to win leading by a couple of points. The maturity and the chemistry shown by Manresa kept them alive at the end of the game.
Let’s see if the last quarterfinal of the Basketball Champions League will end as well with 2-0 for U-Banca Transilvania Cluj-Napoca or Ludwigsburg will tie the series!
