Virtus Bologna deserves to play in the Euroleague

Big teams are showing their true value at the right time. It is happening now in Italy where Virtus Bologna is closer to take the title. After beating 2 times in Milan the Euroleague powerhouse, Olimpia, Virtus can write history if they won one of the next encounters at home.

Not so surprising because Virtus Bologna has built this team during the last years coming back from the second league and then slowly reaching the top. In the first season, they were so close to the playoffs, but unfortunately, they have missed it in the last games.

Then, it came the European glory, when the squad led by Djordjevic has won the Basketball Champions League. Next season they went for the Eurocup, with the hope of Euroleague participation. And I think they deserve it. If they will win the title in Italy beating 3rd place in Euroleague, Olimpia Milano, Virtus should be allowed in the main European competition.

They have an impressive roster starting with Milos Teodosic and Marco Belinelli, 2 emblematic players for these decades in European basketball. The roster is very deep and experienced. I think Virtus has the best combination in Legabasket of foreigners and Italian players, while their chemistry is working perfectly. The best proof is the fact they had 19 victories in a row in Eurocup, before being eliminated by Unics Kazan in the semifinals.

Let’s see if they will be able to finish the season stealing the crown.
