Will the Lakers build a superteam? Now that Toronto is the queen of basketball, the other franchises are focused to rebuild and to keep their assets. Therefore, the rumors are sky high.
When we look at the LA Lakers, the main contenders to win everything next year, the rumors are heavy but we have some certainties.
We have just found out that Lakers transferred Anthony Davis from Pelicans, for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks. Now, LA is the favorite contender to win 2020 championship, according to most of the NBA specialists.
The more important thing is, giving so many assets, how would the bench lineup look like for Lakers.
The bad part of this exchange is that the Lakers have sacrificed their young core for AD. The good part of this exchange is that Lakers seems to be a very attractive destination for free agents, like Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler, superstars that really want to win a championship.
In my opinion, another superstar, like Kemba or Jimmy Butler would make Lakers a true contender for the next season, under the LBJ’s leadership.
Nonetheless, the new LA’s lineup is very interesting, very attractive to watch and very good for business.
Will they be strong enough to win the ring next year, or will they be another Lakers superteam that fails to accomplish the expectations, is a very good question that will be answered during the next season.
Again, the fans are the biggest winners of this trade.
