Will Slovenia stun Lithuania?

Kaunas is one of the four cities that host Olympic Qualifying Tournaments at the moment. Besides Lithuania, the other favorite to go to the Olympics is Slovenia.

After losing to the Clippers in Game 7, Luka Doncic returned to his home country to help his team on its way to Tokyo. Slovenia won EuroBasket 2017 but didn’t quite become a powerhouse in Europe and, because of the different calendars between FIBA and NBA, Slovenia missed the World Cup.

However, at the moment, the team looks great. In the group stage, Slovenia beat Angola by a margin of 50 points (118-68) and then destroyed Poland with a score of 112 to 77.

Doncic played at a high level. In the first game, he had 13 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and five steals in 17 minutes. Then, against Poland, Doncic finished with 18 points, ten assists, and six rebounds in 21 minutes.

But besides The Wonder Boy, Slovenia has some other great players like Klemen Prepelic, Zoran Dragic, Jaka Blazic, Vlatko Cancar, Mike Tobey, or Gregor Hrovat.

They truly enjoy playing together, and they are ready to show everybody what they can do. The only problem is that Slovenia will most probably meet Lithuania in the final of the tournament. The host is not as good as five or ten years ago but is still a force. So will Slovenia beat Lithuania on its own court?
