Zvezda – ridiculous, smashed by an Efes plagued with absences
One of the nightmarish games of the season made by Crvena Zvezda against Anadolu Efes. The Turkish squad came without many important players like Rodrigue Beaubois, Dunston Bryant, Tibor Pleiss and Vasilije Micic. Actually without half of their roster. Anadolu could count only on 5 foreigners and the Turkish players coming from the bench.
The visitors dominated the game thanks to a poor defense made by the Serbian powerhouse that allowed a high percentage from the arc. This loss is even more interesting because today Larkin and some Turks from Anadolu Efes have to play in the Eurobasket qualifiers against Croatia. Normally they should have saved some energy for the national team. And of course, I expected another vibe from Crvena Zvezda. It looked like they were the visitors, with many absences and a game tomorrow with the national team, not Anadolu Efes.
And what was more pathetic was not the loss per see, but the fact that when you watched the game you saw how the host team was destroyed, not beaten! Only in the second quarter, when Anadolu Efes has sent on the court all their bench players, Crvena Zvezda was able to score decently. And of course, they have won the last quarter reducing a bit in the last minutes the huge margin. But overall, the Serbian team sucked big time, when they had all the advantages in the world, including a huge one at the rebounds chapter. Zvezda should have won this game by 15. Such a huge opportunity wasted in a stupid way!
