Asvel – Barça proved the tied level of the EuroLeague
Last night’s duel between the Euroleague favorite to win the title this season and the underdog from France showed us a true thing: that the level of the main competition in Europe is very balanced. Everybody believed that will be an easy win for the Catalans, underrating Asvel Lyon. I saw the entire game and as a bettor, nothing surprised me. The FC Barcelona loss is very normal because:
- They won till now 7 games in a row in the Euroleague and it was very likely to lose some of the next games. You cannot walk unbeaten at this level, where all the teams have the motivation and skilled players.
- The French side had only 1 victory in the Euroleague this season but this doesn’t mean anything. They had many missing players during the first rounds, almost never been in their complete formula. Last night they were all together and let’s not forget they have a very physical squad plus some experienced players like Cole, Diot, Kahudi and so on. Actually, they are not a bad team.
- No team can maintain the same level of energy, focus, shape: neither FC Barcelona can win all the games, nor Asvel Lyon/other underdogs can lose it all.
That’s why betting on the underdog is the best way, especially in the Euroleague, where the level is more tied than you believe. Odd 7? No problem, try it! Small odds? Never trust them.
