Could Maccabi Tel Aviv bump Real Madrid?
A couple of days ago I took Maccabi Tel Aviv at odd 2.40 against Real Madrid and it looks like the odds dropped as I expected. After the home loss against Crvena Zvezda, that dominated Los Blancos 2 days ago, a Maccabi’s victory seems more than reliable.
Real Madrid is confronting with a lot of missing players and they are not in their best moment. They struggled as well at Bayern Munich last week and Maccabi Tel Aviv can take advantage of this difficult situation of the Spanish team.
The Israeli powerhouse has no more excuses to play a decent basketball because now they have a very deep rotation with their injured players back since 2 weeks ago. They had enough time to rebuild chemistry and the value of the roster is very good. The only thing that remains to be seen is if they can successfully practice their wild run and gun against the visitors today.
I see Maccabi Tel Aviv with the first chance today if they could control the ball avoiding turnovers and crazy shots. They have the quality to beat the Spaniards proving they should aim for a playoff spot. But with Maccabi Tel Aviv, you never know: they can play excellent and then compromise the whole effort in the last minute of the encounter. I hope that maybe today they will start to play basketball.
