CSKA and Olympiacos after convincing victories will play the “Gomelsky Cup” Final
The traditional tournament that is taking place every September in Moscow, included this year 2 Russian clubs (CSKA and Unics Kazan) and 2 Greeks (Olympiacos and Promitheas Patras).
The first semifinal opposed Olympiacos and Unics Kazan and the Euroleague powerhouse had a very difficult game, winning in the end with 70-66, thanks to the contribution of Georgios Printezis (18 points, 7 rebounds), Kevin Punter (14 points) and Nikola Milutinov who finished in double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds).
Unics Kazan replied with Jamar Smith (17 points), Errick McCollum (11 points) and Alex Tyus (10points), showing a great desire to win. The Russians are again one of the main candidates to enter the Eurocup Finals this season, having the chance to qualify for the Euroleague.
On the second semifinal of the tournament, the host team CSKA Moscow smashed Promitheas Patras with 72-52, in a game without a history. The main contributors for the Red Army were Joel Bolomboy (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Mike James and Kyle Hines both with 11 points. The only player of Promitheas who reached 10 points was the Greek center Georgios Bogris.
