How should we have bet on Maccabi Tel Aviv – Khimki?

The best thing you can do is analyze the games that you missed. Not only the predictions that you lost but as well the good bet that you didn’t place. I will give you one of the examples below. Yesterday, Maccabi Tel Aviv received the visitors from Khimki Moscow Region. The odd was very low 1.12 on the hosts so I skipped betting on that game because I didn’t see anything clearly.

If I have looked deeper I would discover that the final result 92-62 for the Israeli team is very likely to happen, but I didn’t. I didn’t focus on that game because Khimki resisted heroically in front of many teams and won some games if they parted ways with almost all the foreigners. Without Alexey Shved and with a mediocre roster they have, exactly one month ago they beat Zenit in Sankt-Petersburg in VTB-League.

This game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Khimki had no special meaning from my point of view. Both teams started the season with high hopes of reaching the Euroleague playoffs and then sank dramatically. This encounter shouldn’t change anything for none of them. But I was wrong.

Khimki came resigned, having a very short and weak roster of only 9 players, while for Maccabi Tel Aviv it was the last game at the home of the regular season. Their basketball arena was crowded with fans that were coming to support their favourites and for Maccabi, this was the last chance to show some good basketball after a failed season. Khimki definitely was not able to keep the same rhythm. At least a -8.5 handicap should have been taken on the host team. I didn’t see it coming.
