Maccabi Tel Aviv could win at CSKA Moscow

One of the classical derbies of the Euroleague will take place in Moscow this week. Maccabi will face CSKA in a game where both teams will be affected by some missings. Recently, CSKA Moscow discovered 3 COVID-19 cases between their players. Without Nikola Milutinov, Janis Strelnieks and Semen Antonov the rotation of the Red Army is shortened, especially when they don’t have the roster of last seasons.

This season, CSKA’s roster includes fewer players than in the past ones, probably because they cut some expenses due to Coronavirus and the economic crisis. Now, with these 3 Coronavirus cases, their roster is even shorter. Actually, they can rely now only on 9 players and one of these 9 is Ivan Ukhov, a decent but not impressive guy.

On the other side, Maccabi Tel Aviv didn’t count on Omri Casspi, John DiBartolomeo and Yovel Zoosman during the last games, so their rotation is shorter as well. Dragan Bender was signed a couple of days ago by the Israeli club, but he needs time to accommodate with the team. He played only 2 minutes against Alba Berlin, but I am sure he can do better.

Let’s say that now both teams have similar rosters which will make the battle very balanced, with a small advantage for CSKA Moscow because of the homecourt advantage. But the initial odds on the visitors was huge: 3.25 which is worthy to be taken. There is no doubt that at the game time this odd will drop and at least you can make good cash out.
