None of the Zalgiris players reached 10 points scored
The fact that Sarunas Jasikevicius was fined by the Euroleague with 4.500 euros for protest against the refs it seemed to affect also the quality of the basketball played yesterday against Anadolu Efes.
The Turkish team dominate Zalgiris in an unexpected way: Efes won all 4 quarters of the meeting, something unusual in Euroleague and in modern basketball in a derby. Another indicator of poor performance was the low scoring of the Lithuanian team who had – at home – just 58 points.
The 3 point shot, a house speciality for the Baltics was reduced to almost nothing: Zalgiris scored just 3 from 11 from the arc.
But the most negative record is that none of Zalgiris players reached 10 points scored, which proves better than anything the bad day of the entire squad. That’s why Anadolu Efes “fined” Zalgiris with 21 points winning margin (58-79)
