Olympiacos cannot find the way to the basket
If you just shoot without scoring, even a weak opponent will kill you in the end. It’s one of the biggest truth of the game of basketball. The defense is good, is the key for the offense, but when you don’t have the ability to put the ball in the basket it’s over!
It’s exactly what happened with Olympiacos Piraeus against an easy to be beaten Fenerbahce, who came to Greece without their most important center Jan Vesely. Then, the new addition of the Turkish side, Erick Green didn’t play. He was on the bench, but not entering the game.
Bobby Dixon, another strong weapon of Fenerbahce played just 10 minutes and only after halftime. So what do you need more to beat Fenerbahce? If Olympiacos didn’t win in this situation, what they expect? That the whole Turkish side to be injured and then maybe you can steal the win?
If Olympiacos cannot defend young Turkish players like Mahmutoglu and Duverioglu – which actually made a good game – they deserve to lose. And as well you deserve to lose if you cannot score a basket for minutes, if you just throw airballs at the expiration of the 24 seconds clock, because you as a team didn’t find any solutions to free one of the players for an open shot.
