Reasons for San Pablo Burgos to beat Baskonia
Tomorrow, the reigning champions of BasketballCL will host the battle against Liga ACB champions. A very tough game for both of the squads that need to prove their level. Both teams can be a bit tired after having many games in only a couple of days. After finishing the Final 8, Burgos had almost no rest since they travelled to Zaragoza and won that encounter too.
Before the game against Baskonia, Burgos has 3 big advantages:
- they are playing at home, while Baskonia had to travel the whole of Europe to meet Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade and back to Spain.
- the Euroleague powerhouse will play after less than 48 hours since their last encounter (including here the trip from Belgrade to Burgos), while Burgos had one more day to rest (they played Zaragoza on Thursday)
- San Pablo Burgos is coming after a huge start of the season in Liga ACB where they are occupying the 4th place with 3 wins and 1 loss. Their morale is sky-high after registering 6 wins in the last 7 official games, countering here the final tournament in Athens. On the other side, Baskonia lost at home with Murcia and then they were smashed by Crvena Zvezda.
Last but not least, I think Burgos has at the moment a better depth of the roster. The bench of Baskonia is not providing points with constancy. It remains to see if the Basques could stop the terrible offensive weapons of Burgos. If not, there will be extremely difficult for Baskonia to win this encounter.
