Indiana Pacers

Indiana Pacers

Despite the fact that Indiana Pacers didn’t manage to win any championships throughout their history, they had some Hall of Fame players, such as Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin or Alex English. Reggie Miller came into the league in 1987, drafted by Indiana. He was one of the best shooters in NBA history, while he was known as being a very tough opponent to match because of his trash-talking. Miller played with the Pacers franchise the only NBA Finals in their history in 2000, when they faced the Los Angeles Lakers, but unfortunately for his legacy, they lost in 6 matches to a much stronger team, led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant then. During his eighteen year career spent in Indianapolis, he averaged 18,2 PPG, 3 RPG and 3 APG, while shooting 47,1% from the field. Before he choose to retire, he became the Pacers franchise leading scorer and a legend of that club. After Reggie Miller’s era was over, Danny Granger was picked by the Pacers in the 2005 draft with the 17th pick. He was their leading scorer for four consecutive seasons, but the Pacers didn’t do too much in the post season, so he left in 2010, when Paul George was drafted with the 10th overall pick. He ended up being a key player for the franchise, as Indiana was constantly a top 5 team in the East. He was very close to defeat the Miami Heat super team in 2013, when they lost in seven games in a very close series which even D. Wade said that the Pacers should’ve won. George left in 2017 and many thought that this move will start a rebuilding process for the franchise, only that the process never started, as Oladipo came in that trade and played so good for them that he received Most Improved Player honors in 2018.
