Phoenix Suns

  Phoenix Suns

Phoenix Suns played two NBA Finals in their entire history, and didn’t manage to get any of them. Despite of that, they had a pretty good team in the 90s with all sorts of future Hall of Famers. Charles Barkley was the one who lead the Suns to the Finals in 1993. He also won the MVP award in that season, just after he got traded by the 76ers. The period in which Barkley played there represented one of the, if not the best period of the Suns recent history. Jason Kidd and Steve Nash, two legends on their position, also went to the arid soils of Arizona. Kidd came through a trade from Dallas, while Nash was drafted. After only two seasons spent with the Suns, Nash got traded, and times weren’t quite good for the franchise, as they were continuously eliminated in the First Round of the playoffs. In 2004, Steve Nash came back in Phoenix and together with Shawn Marion and Amar’e Stoudemire, they made some noise in the playoffs, as they played three Western Conference Finals until 2010. Although they didn’t make it to the last round, the Suns was a team to be feared in the West while Steve Nash was in his prime. He also won back-to-back MVPs in that period of time. Unfortunately for the franchise, since they got eliminated by the eventual NBA champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, in 2010, they didn’t manage to make the playoffs anymore. During the last seasons they kept on trying to rebuild, as they were on the bottom of the standings for quite some years now.
