The sun rose again in Arizona
Last night, Phoenix Suns beat Oklahoma City Thunder with a score of 128 to 101. The team led by Devin Booker won their sixth game of the bubble and remained the only undefeated team in Orlando. After this game, Phoenix Suns keep high hopes for playoffs, as they are fighting with Grizzlies, Blazers, and Spurs for the eighth seed.
In the next three days, the Phoenix Suns will have two duels with Philadelphia 76ers and with Dallas Mavericks. The Sixers are playing without Ben Simmons, who got hurt last week, while Mavericks might be choosing to rest Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Therefore, the players coached by Monty Williams have a big chance of getting into the playoffs.
However, the main thing here is that even if they don’t get into the first eight teams from the West, the future looks bright for the Suns. They have a young, talented team led by Devin Booker, a superstar in the making, Ricky Rubio is a pass-first point guard, while DeAndre Ayton does his job under the basket. Besides that, Monty Williams is a great coach who gives a lot of confidence to players like Dario Saric, Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Payne, or Jevon Carter.
I would love to see the Suns in the playoff to remind myself about the series between Suns and Lakers from the last decade. If they get some veterans to the team, I think that the Suns can do great things in the next years.
