Next week the qualifiers for the last places in the Basketball Champions League are set in Cyprus and Bulgaria.
Group A schedule will be:
Semi-Final 1: Bakken Bears (DEN) – Hapoel Tel Aviv (ISR)
Semi-Final 2: Anwil Wloclawek (POL) – Belfius Mons-Hainaut (BEL)
and even if Hapoel Tel Aviv is considered the favourite, Anwil Wloclawek has as well good chances to win the group, everything depending on the group cohesion y the chemistry. Anwil’s roster is very tough and the bench is very large.
Group B will offer next games:
Semi-Final 1: Keravnos (CYP) – Iraklis (GRE)
Semi-Final 2: Donar Groningen (NED) – Dnipro (UKR)
Here we have a clear favorite, the Greek team who has a better and more experienced roster. Normaly, they won’t have any problems to win the group.
Group C is maybe the most balanced:
Semi-Final 1: U-BT Cluj Napoca (ROU) – Igokea (BIH)
Semi-Final 2: Fribourg Olympic (SUI) – Sporting CP (POR)
The derby of the group it will be between the Romanian team U-Banca Transilvania and Igokea. because each team previously announced they don’t want to continue in FIBA Europe Cup in case they lose this qualifiers for BasketballCL. So it will be a tough battle and the best squad of this clash probably will win the group.
Group C is very interesting:
Semi-Final 1: Tsmoki-Minsk (BLR) – Balkan Botevgrad (BUL)
Semi-Final 2: Neptunas Klaipeda (LTU) – London Lions (GBR)
Tsmoki and Neptunas are considered the main candidates in the fight for the only spot that could take them to the Champions League because they have more previous experience in FIBA competitions. Let’s see if London Lion could surprise us!
