Top 10 of the most efficient players at the FIBA World Cup

Today`s article is about the top 10 performers at the index rate category from the recently ended FIBA World Cup. The tournament was won by Spain and they secured the second World Cup trophy in their history. Let`s review now the most efficient players of the entire competition, according to the official stats of the FIBA World Cup.

  1. In the first place is Guna Ra, a naturalized American, from South Korea. He was the centrepiece of the Korean team, finishing with 23 points per game and 12.8 rebounds. The best game for him was the one against Argentina finishing with 31 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks.
  2. Corey Webster (NZL) – He was the main scorer for New Zeeland finishing with 22.8 points per game. Also, he had good all-around stats, averaging 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds. Top performance: 31 points, 4 assists and 2 steals against Greece.
  3. Salah Mejri (TUN) – He finished with 16.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.2 blocks. In the game against Angola, he recorded 8 blocks, a record for a World Cup tournament. Top performance: 22 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks against Iran.
  4. Bogdan Bogdanovic (SRB) – He was the top performer for the Serbian team, averaging 22.9 points, 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds. Maybe he was the only Serbian player that lives up with the expectations. Top performance: 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists against Spain.
  5. Denis Schroder (GER) – The best player from Germany finished with 19.6 points, 9.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds. Top performance: 24 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds against Senegal.
  6. Tomas Satoransky (CZE) – He was the star player for the Czech Republic and finished with 15.5 points, 8.5 assists and 5.6 rebounds. Top performance: 22 points, 12 assists and 4 rebounds against Poland.
  7. Jonas Valanciunas (LTU) – the big man from Lithuania averaged 14 points and 8.8 rebounds. Top performance: 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks against the Dominican Republic.
  8. Danilo Gallinari (ITA) – The top performer for Italy is another NBA player, like most of those presented in this top. He averaged 17.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. Top performance: 26 points and 8 rebounds against Serbia.
  9. Giannis Antetokuonmpo (GRE) – One of the biggest disappointment in this World Cup was the “Greek Freak”. Everybody expected big numbers and astonishing displays from the NBA`s MVP, but he failed and finished with only 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Top performance: 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists against New Zeeland and that was the only match when he scored more than 15 points in the tournament.
  10. Isaac Fotu (NZL) – In the 10th position, we have another player from New Zeeland. He averaged 18.4 points and 6 rebounds. Top performance: 23 points and 10 rebounds against Japan.
