Dallas Mavericks beat Utah Jazz by 50 points
In the last season, Utah Jazz was one of the biggest surprises in the Western Conference, eliminating Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of playoffs. This year, it has been a different story for the team in Salt Lake City, but still, nobody could’ve guessed what happened last night.
Dallas Mavericks, an organization which is going through a rebuilding process, managed to win against Utah Jazz by a difference of 50 points, 118-68. This seems incredible to me knowing that Utah Jazz has some amazing players such as Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles or Ricky Rubio. Of course, Dallas Mavericks’ young talents, Luka Doncic, Dennis Smith Jr. or Wesley Matthews can play too, but I expected Utah Jazz to be more experienced.
The stats show us the reality of this game. Quin Snyder’s players managed to score 25 baskets out of 80 tries, while the opponents were shooting 58.4% from the field (45/77). From the three-point line, Utah Jazz had a horrible percentage – 17.1% (6/35). At the free-throw line, the two teams had similar numbers, but Dallas Mavericks dominated the fight for rebounds (51-33). Another amazing stat is that the bench of the Mavs scored 66 points, while the entire Utah Jazz team scored only 68 points.
Definitely, this was a performance to forget by Utah Jazz, a team that has 7 wins and 7 losses and is the 10th in the West. In the meantime, Dallas Mavericks won their last three games and now has 6 wins and 8 losses.
