Did the Clippers break the curse?
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the Western Conference Finals. Yes, you read that right. The team coached by Tyronn Lue beat the Utah Jazz with a score of 4-2 and will meet the Phoenix Suns in a fight for the NBA Finals.
The road wasn’t easy. In both rounds, the Clippers were led 2-0 by the Mavericks and the Jazz. However, every time, the Californian-based team managed to come back and win. Kawhi Leonard played very well in this year’s playoff, while Paul George shut down his critics and put up some amazing stats.
Before 2010, the Los Angeles Clippers were considered the other team in LA. The Lakers were more popular and successful. However, in the past decade, the Clippers had better overall seasons but never managed to win the title. Steve Ballmer took Donald Sterling’s place as the owner of the team and the Clippers entered a new era. After years of disappointment, it looks like the hard work is finally paying off.
In the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers will meet the Suns, which are the surprise of this season. The only problem is that Kawhi Leonard suffered a tough injury so it is a big question mark if he will be able to play. However, Chris Paul, the leader of the opponents, has COVID-19 so he is also expected to miss some time.
The only sure thing is that we’ll see a big battle and that the Clippers have the chance to enter history. Will they manage to do it? Will they win it all?
