Golden State Warriors’ domination is over

In the last 4 years, the Golden State Warriors was the best team in the league, winning the title three times. They took smart decisions and by that I mean they drafted well, they managed to get great picks in the free agency and the most important aspect – they managed to keep their team intact. The results are very obvious, Golden State Warriors became one of the most successful teams in history.

More than that, this summer Bob Myers added DeMarcus Cousins to their roster, which already included 4 all-stars. This move scandalized a lot of NBA fans, which said that the Golden State Warriors are taking all the fun from the game. Everybody thought that the team based in Oakland, California, will win the championship with ease, but the start of the season is surprising.

At the moment, Golden State Warriors stand on the second position in the Western Conference, with 23 wins and 12 losses. This shows a big problem with this team. If we look at Steve Kerr’s era, in the first season, the 12th loss came in March, in the second season, the 12th loss never came as the Warriors finished with 73-9, in the third season, the 12th loss came again in March and in the fourth season, the 12th loss came in February. A reason of this is that the players don’t seem to get along anymore. Remember that a few weeks ago, Kevin Durant had a huge fight with Draymond Green that surely impacted the players a lot.

More than that, the Warriors’ players don’t seem to have the joy of playing that was so specific to them. Therefore, they lost last night by 26 points against the LA Lakers, which played almost a half without LeBron James. The Golden State Warriors are still favorites to win the title, but even if they do so I think it will be the last for them in this run.

I have a lot of respect for Joe Lacob and Bob Myers and everyone who contributed to making this team a great one because I can see that it is very hard to keep 4 all-stars in a team. That’s why what dey did is incredible but I think that their time is gone and from the next season a new era will begin.
