Banvit Basketbol Kulubu

Banvit Basketbol Kulübü (English: Banvit Basketball Club), known simply as Banvit, is a Turkish professional basketball club from Bandırma, Turkey. The team is sponsored and owned by the local feed and poultry producer Banvit Company.

The team has its own home arena, the Kara Ali Acar Sport Hall, with a capacity of 3000 seats. Banvit plays currently in the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) and the FIBA Basketball Champions League (BCL).

Banvit was founded in 1994, by employees at Banvit meat factory in Bandirma. First seasons, the team played in the Turkish regional leagues in 1998, and was promoted to the Turkish second division in 2001. After winning the second division in 2004, the club was promoted to the Turkish top-tier level BSL.

The team played in the European-wide fourth-tier level FIBA EuroCup Challenge even in their first BSL season, reaching the competition’s semifinals. Banvit has reached the BSL League semifinals 5 times, and reached the final of the Turkish Cup twice, winning the trophy in 2017.

The 2012–2013 season was very good for Banvit, the team being able to eliminate Beșiktaș in the quarterfinal and Anadolu Efes in the semifinal series of the BSL playoffs. In the finals, they lost against Galatasaray Medical Park (4–1). Next season, Banvit qualified for the EuroLeague 2013–2014, but they lost the qualification round against the Belgian team Telenet Oostende, being dropped down to the second-tier level EuroCup.
