Buducnost

Buducnost history goes way back in time, as they were initiated in 1949 for the first time. The team coming from the Montenegro capital, Podgorica is the best one coming out from that country. Currently, they are participating in three leagues, the domestic one, the Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. Throughout time, the club managed to win some championships, adding 3 Yugoslav Leagues, 3 Yugoslav Cups, 12 Montenegrin Cups, 12 Montenegrin League Titles and 1 ABA League. They dominated the league for five straight years, as they won the domestic championship from 2006 until 2011, with a combined record of 89-1. As for the European cups, they participated in some, but they didn’t do as much as in their home country. Buducnost was constantly appearing in the EuroCup and the Adriatic League starting with year 2011. Seven years after that, the team managed to win the ABA League, beating their rivals from Serbia, Crvena Zvezda, in 4 games. Because of that victory they got a slot in the next season’s EuroLeague, this marking their first time in the top-tier tournament of Europe. In the 2018-19 they signed a former NBA player and champion with the Miami Heat, Norris Cole. Despite of all that, they finished 15th in the EuroLeague, while having the second worst record in the tournament, with 6 wins and 24 losses. They also lost in the ABA League Finals in a rematch against Crvena Zvezda, losing it in 5 games.
