The best team of the week: Khimki

Even nobody gave them a chance for such a big performance Khimki did it! Despite of the absences of their most important players, Alexey Shved and Anthony Gill, the Russian team fight like heroes in Gran Canaria, to overcome the local team. And not just overcome. Led by Dee Bost (20 points) and Charles Jenkins (18) they smashed the host with an incredible 99-70, one of the weirdest blows in the history of Euroleague, because it was actually supposed to be a derby of the small teams. And all the odds indicated Herbalife Gran Canaria as favourite.

The final result was even more strange if we take in consideration the fact that Gran Canaria had at disposal a whole roster because they added the last week new faces like Josh Magette and Siim Sander Vene to replace the injured player. Luke Fischer was also back with the Spanish team. So no excuses for Gran Canaria loss.

The win is even braver for visitors Khimki because this is the longest trip they can make for a game in the Euroleague: there is more than 6000 km from Moscow to Las Palmas.
